The oil filter cover for BMW M50 S50 S52 S54 engines is designed to allow the user to add an external oil cooler to reduce oil temperatures without having to replace the entire oil filter housing. A specially designed sealing mechanism directs oil to the cooler lines and through the oil filter.

- The oil filter used for this kit is the Mahle OX154/1D used on various E36, E46, E39, Z and X-series vehicles, You must use this specific filter as a replacement - other brands equivalent will not work.
- (For)BMW designed the factory BMW filter housing with some inconsistencies in the center post diameter. Even though the part number is the same, your center post diameter may be a difference size.
- You must measure the center post in your factory filter housing, and ensure that it is no larger than .960" If your center post measures more than 1" diameter then the oil cooler cap will not fit.
